In addition to counseling, our autism support services include authentic socialization events, like table-top role playing games and group therapy that includes special interest that encourages a growth mindset.

Facts about Autism
1
No two people with Autism share the exact same combination of strengths, challenges, and support needs.
If you've met one person who has Autism, you've met one person with Autism. In other words, Dr. Stephen Shore states "The spectrum isn't a straight line from "mild" to "severe." Instead, it is a complex, circular blend of different traits—ranging from communication and social interaction to sensory processing and special interests".
2
Many autistic individuals unconsciously mimic neurotypical social interactions through a process known as "masking".
Masking often requires a lot of energy and can lead to "autistic burnout" which may cause depression, agoraphobia and even OCD traits.
3
Sensory experiences can affect autistic individuals on a physical level.
Hyper-sensitivity from sensory experiences (some include everyday loud sounds or bright lights) can cause severe physical pain.
Hypo-sensitivity may occur (sometimes even in the same individual) and may include reduced sensitivity to pain or extreme temperatures.
4
Hyper-Empathy often occurs in autistic individuals.
Contrary to the stereotype of being emotionless, many autistic people experience hyper-empathy, feeling the emotions of others or the pain of animals with overwhelming intensity.
