Max Martin, MS, LCMHCA

Max received his Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University of New England, and previously received Bachelor of Science degrees in Cognitive Science and Computer Science from the University of Georgia. His neurodiversity-affirming approach is rooted in empathetic collaboration and a strong curiosity about the existential depths underlying our everyday lives. Through patient, compassionate exploration, Max helps his clients better understand and connect with their full, authentic selves. Max tailors his approach using concepts and techniques from several backgrounds, including Psychodynamic theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy. Using tools from these approaches, Max works to help support clients find and nurture their strengths.

 

Max has experience helping adults and couples with issues relating to:

  • Emotion regulation

  • Grief and loss

  • Identity exploration

  • Mindfulness practice

  • Relationship problems

  • Self-esteem

  • Spirituality

 

In his free time, Max enjoys spending time outdoors birding and hiking, as well as reading, board games, and playing guitar.
