Katie Bishop, MSW, LCSWA
Katie has spent the majority of her career working with youth, adolescents, and adults with autism and particularly enjoys helping these individuals strengthen their social, emotional regulation, and assertiveness skills. In addition to autism, Katie has worked with a variety of individuals to provide support in navigating:
ADHD
Anxiety
Depression
Intellectual Disabilities
Down Syndrome
Katie has trained in various therapeutic styles, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solutions Focused Therapy. She uses a flexible approach based on the needs of the individual. Katie works in collaboration with each person to understand what led them to therapy and create goals to help them develop the skills they seek. Prior to becoming a therapist, Katie worked in the school system supporting students with autism and ADHD. Because of this experience, she is aware of the challenges that can arise for these students in the school setting and the importance of partnering with families.
